Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. Therefore, it was an honor for the SLC Management board, Professor Madeja and Maximilian Madeja, to be invited to a special Chinese New Year Reception organised and hosted by the Chinese Cultural Center Berlin, the Society for Sino-German Friendship Metropolitan Region Rhine-Neckar e.V. and the European Court of Heidelberg.

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the P.R. China and the Embassy of the P.R. China in the Federal Republic of Germany, high ranking guests from political, educational and industrial institutions came together for the 1. Chinese Gourmet festival, to celebrate and to strengthen Sino-German relations.

SLC Management was exclusively invited to this event, recognizing the work done in the sports, leisure and cultural sector and the strong network SLC built over the past years in China.

The event that was highlighted by a gourmet dinner prepared by special chefs from China, gave the opportunity to exchange views and to establish new ties between China and Germany while enjoying the finest Chinese cuisine.

The importance and value of this event was underlined by the presence of the second-highest diplomat of the People's Republic of China, the envoy of the Chinese embassy, Zhang Junhui, and the envoy counsellor for culture, sports and tourism, Chen Jianyang, who travelled from Berlin especially to attend this event.

The evening was accompanied by a harmonious supporting programme, many interesting conversations and the Chinese artist and soprano Xia Ye.
